Aimee Swikit – Artist & Upholsterer

If you are looking for a highly qualified upholsterer in the Halifax area, Aimee Swikit may be the one you’ve been searching for.

Artisan Upholstery Studio has been thriving in Bedford since 2011 and Aimee has been teaching her popular DIY Workshops since 2014.

Aimee entered the Upholstery Program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (British Columbia) in 1994, when she was just 19 years old. At a young age, she knew she was destined for creative work with her hands. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2002 from Emily Carr University in Vancouver, majoring in ceramic sculpture.

Aimee moved to Nova Scotia in 2005, and has resided in her Bedford heritage home since 2010. She has a passion for restoration, items of quality and great workmanship as well as the history behind them.

Although upholstery is her full-time career, she continues as a practicing artist, and her functional art mugs are sold in several stores across Nova Scotia.

With a Fine Arts background and Certified Trade School upholstery training, she has more than 24 years of professional experience.  You can trust that your treasured vintage and antique furniture will be well taken care of.
